Fielding a Ground Ball ()

Fielding Groundballs 

  • Approach the ball by having it lined up with your left foot
  • Should be thinking about going to and through the ball not waiting for it
  • As the you meet the ball, step in to it with your right foot then your left foot, field the ball, take shuffle step and throw
  • Field ball out front
  • Front part of glove should be only part of glove touching the ground
  • Bring ball in towards your stomach chest section keeping head down
  • Never cross your feet when taking your shuffle step to throw
