Fielding Down 1st Base Line ()

Fielding Bunts

  • Attack and get every ball you can, but be ready to communicate with fielders that are charging.
  • Do not take a direct line to ball unless it is do or die.
  • First step should be with the thought of creating an angle to the base you will be throwing so when the ball is picked up you are in a good position to throw.
  • Use glove as a stopper and rake the ball into the glove with your throwing hand.
  • On the ball down the first base line be prepared to field the ball and take a drop step so that there is clearance to throw the ball to first without fear of hitting the runner.
  • On the ball down the third base line reverse pivot when fielding (counter clockwise) find the target and make the throw.
