Hand Separation ()

Hand Separation

This process starts with the Rock Step and the hands should be going over the head or possibly staying at the chest (whatever is most comfortable).
  • When bringing the hands back down be sure they are in sync with the leg lift.
  • The throwing arm should continue the down and straight back in an arc-like motion, watch for wrapping on the reach back as well as reaching straight back without the arc.
  • Make sure that the thumbs are down when separating and the hand is to the sky (doing this will help force the elbow into the right position to throw).
  • As the body starts the smooth glide forward the arm should be back into the power position before the stride foot hits the ground.
